Meeting Canary can be configured to work in 3 modes.

  • Silent Time and Cost Only - Only dashboard data available.
  • Time, Cost and Survey Only - In-meeting Side Panel (showing time and cost only), post meeting time and cost notification and post meeting survey.

Tenant wide or selected users

Meeting Canary Agent can be configured to monitor either all users or a selected subset. It only adds the Meeting Canary app and monitors meeting events to Teams Meetings where the meeting organiser has been subscribed.

This allows a smaller group of users to trial Meeting Canary. The app will be installed in meetings where the subscribed user is the organiser—both for new meetings and for existing meetings when the meeting details are updated.

Users who don’t have a license will still experience the benefits of Meeting Canary when attending meetings organised by licensed users.

Other options

Meeting Language – Any language supported by Microsoft Speech to Text can be selected.

Meeting Animations - If disabled, the Meeting Canary video output will be disabled and the Meeting Canary Logo shown instead.

Voice Assistant – The in-meeting “OK Meeting Canary [Your Command]” functionality can be disabled.

These options can be set at the Tenant level, but they can also be adjusted for individual meetings. To update the settings, select Settings from the welcome card that appears when the Meeting Canary App is added to a meeting.

  1. With Silent Mode the Meeting Canary Teams App will not be added to meeting. There will be no visible Meeting Canary branding or notifications available to users. Only those with access to the Meeting Canary Agent aggregated dashboard will be able to see Meeting Times and Costs. ↩︎

  2. In Meeting Animations can be disabled. ↩︎
